Since 2003 I have been using holistic therapies to support the body's inner physician in the healing process.
I qualified in Holistic Swedish and Indian head massage so that I could use these methods of healing to clear the lymphatic drainage system and release toxins from the body. By recognizing that illness and stress affects not only our physical but also our emotional, spiritual and mental well-being, holistic massage allows the body's natural healing abilities to come forth and balance the entire body as a whole.
In 2011 I received treatment with a Sports Massage Therapist in order to relieve a painful thigh muscle and lower back pain. The relief I had was immediate and I wished that I had had this treatment first in the long line of other treatments I tried.
The prime purpose of Sports massage therapy is to help alleviate the stress and tension which builds up in the body’s soft tissues during physical activity. Where minor injuries and lesions occur, due to overexertion and/or overuse, massage can break them down quickly and
effectively. Above all, it can help prevent those niggling injuries that so often get in the way of performance and achievement, whether one is an athlete, ardent keep-fitter or a once a week jogger.
This treatment is not just for the sports person: anyone can benefit from sports massage, including people in physically demanding jobs and those not quite so obvious (occupational, emotional and postural stress may produce many similar characteristics to sports injuries). The deep tissue and myo-fascial release techniques can be used to support any client in there journey to well being.
I was so impressed with this form of treatment that I decided to build on my original therapies and train as an Advanced Sports Massage Therapist. I trained with Essentials for Health in London in 2012 and received a level 5 BTEC certificate.
I have recently taken a further course in Pregnancy and labour massage with the London School of Massage.
I am now creating tailor-made massages based on deep tissue, myo-fascial release and Swedish massage techniques which suit the needs of the individual client be they a Sports person or otherwise, in order for their body to facilitate the healing process. I also use MET, NMT and STR techniques to support the body to heal. I offer advise about how to support your body in the future.
